40% of American homes still pay monthly for a landline (a home phone). Although landlines are much cheaper today, it is not a necessary cost. 6 years ago, I canceled my landline home phone and I have not missed it. Consider joining the now 60% of American cell-phone ONLY homes and save.
Yet the biggest savings comes with changing your cell phone carrier. I was paying Sprint $205 per month in 2020 (ouch!) for 4 cell phones, and all 4 cell phones were paid in full.
I switched to Spectrum wireless, and I was able to keep my phones I had with Sprint. My bill dropped to $56 per month. That’s a savings of a whopping $149 every month. And my coverage is as wonderful as it was with Sprint, in or out of my home.
I have been InCruises membership free since my first month, but if I was not, this savings would have MORE than covered my membership fee each month.
More and more inexpensive cell phone plans are available and we can expect this competition to drive the prices lower with NO contract, so if you don’t like it, you can switch without a fee.
Here is a partial list to consider, with plans as low as $10/mo and unlimited data plans as low as $25/month.

Spectrum Mobile
Xfinity Mobile
Visible Mobile
Twigby Mobile
Redpocket Mobile
Check with your current cell phone bill for the last 3 months and see how much DATA you are actually using. You may not need an unlimited plan. If you have more than one cell phone on your plan, most plans SHARE the data also, and this saves you more money. If you go over your shared data limit, some charge about $14 per gigabyte you go over or do not charge at all, but throttle your speed down.
Note: On Feb 23, 2021 – Tmobile announced a new unlimited service you may want to check into if unlimited + high speed are important to you. Click Here for the Details.
Note: I do not earn 1 cent if you switch your phone service.
